Botanical Name Sabal mauritiiformis
Description This Sabal palm is native throughout Central and Northern South America but, only in small isolated scattered populations. Sabal mauritiiformis is a fast growing trunk forming Sabal that can mature to 20-30'High x 10-12'Wide. Sabal mauritiiformis is only reported to be cold hardy to 20 degrees F. but, being the most tropical looking in its genus, it is worth a try in Zone 7b. Sabal mauritiiformis is surely a spectacular palm for warmer temperate climates.
Notes
All of our 1 gallons are grown in a 4x4" square x 14" deep pots and 3 gallon are grown in 7x7" square x 18" deep pots to allow for a deeper root system which aids in our Palms winter survival. Customers are having much better success with our palms surviving the winter over growers that use traditional shallow pots.
