| Description |
A very exciting new species yet to be properly identified, this palm looks as if it was left behind from the days of an earlier geologic time, said Frank Kingdom Ward in his exploration through the native haunts of this species in the 1950's. Having an unfinished look as if it is still evolving, it grows naturally on rocky and grassy sandstone slopes at an altitude around 6500'. Naga Hills Fan Palm has some similar characteristics with T. princeps with the whitish silver undersides of the fronds. It does however differ by having more fronds than species T.princeps and at the same time has a more coarse texture than species T.princeps. Reported to be cold hardy, I have not experienced this species cold tolerance and can not give any more facts on its cold hardiness but definitely worth experimenting with.
