Considered the most elegant species in the Genus and previously named Trachycarpus khasianus. It is very easy to grow, quite fast, and has attractive arching large fans that create a full, but airy crown. It is said to tolerate moderate frost, 20 degrees F. Nepal fan Palm is from the Himalayas where it grows on rock faced cliffs. It has a delicate structure and a bare(hairless) trunk. It has a very tropical appearance for being cold hardy, in zone 8 or cooler it will need some protection. Worth a try.
