Description This variety is the same as species but has large beautiful trusses of snow white flowers. The leaves are large evergreen leathery and dark green. It reaches at maturity 8'High x 10'Wide. Catawba Rhododendron must be grown in moist soils that drains well. In the warmer zones it must be grown in full shade preferably the north side of a forest, structure, or hill/slope. Even the north side of a home is acceptable. It prefers high elevations.
